Gulf Broadcast receives Strategic Video Award

Gulf Broadcast wins the ‘Advertising’ segment of a highly competitive season for their ‘Harmony of Nature’ villa tour production for Riffa Views

Abu Sayba, Bahrain – 15 January, 2012 - YouTube’s views now exceed two billion a day from all over the world and CISCO expects internet traffic to increase seven times by 2013 with video representing a whopping 90% of that traffic, it’s fair to say that video is the fastest growing communications medium. Video is increasingly becoming a top tactic for corporate communicators, augmenting communication efforts through traditional platforms.

The Strategic Video Awards have been created to celebrate this explosive impact of video for corporate communication. In its second year, the Awards received double the entries with participants including Monsanto, Nationwide Insurance, Pfizer, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Peabody Energy and the American Bar Association as well as Gulf Broadcast from Bahrain which was announced the winner in the Advertising segment of the Awards.

“We are thrilled to receive this recognition from industry luminaries. This encourages us to continue in our quest to champion better visual communications locally and internationally by setting successful examples and demonstrating to our clients our team’s creativity and dedication to the task while remaining true to their mission and vision,” says Mahmood Al-Yousif, Gulf Broadcast’s founder and executive producer. “Through a wealth of experience in emerging communications and social media platforms, we are cognizant of what works and how best to leverage that knowledge to the advantage of our clients and their messaging,” he continued.

“We would like to particularly thank Riffa Views, our pioneering client, whose leadership and vision allowed them to embrace our suggestions and adopt them as their main communication strategy which resulted in a multiple award winning website and this Strategic Video Award for their online video communication,” Mahmood concluded.

Entries ranged from Flip Cam-produced internal videos to full studio-production level corporate videos and their strategic purposes included marketing, sales, employee communication and training, public service, investor relations and recruitment.

“The number of entries we received proves what we already know: Organizations of all kinds are turning to video as a compelling way to communicate,” says David Murray, awards program director. “But more importantly, the quality of the entries shows that they’re doing a better job across the board.”

The entries were judged by 13 communication industry experts who filtered out entries in 35 categories in every area of external and internal communications. The winners provided stellar examples of why video is increasingly becoming a preferable choice for professional communicators. The 16 winners were chosen this year with ten honourable mentions showcase the increasingly varied and unique ways organisations can use video to communicate with stakeholders.

The awards program is sponsored by McMurry, one of the largest marketing communications firms in the U.S. with offices in Arizona and New York.
