About Mahmood
Mahmood Nasser Al-Yousif
I graduated as a licensed aircraft electrical maintenance engineer from Britain’s Air University in Perth, Scotland in 1984. I enjoyed working at Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Oman until 1993. While working at Gulf Air I took the opportunity to continue my licensing studies and on-job training and got the remainder of the Avionix licenses.
Deciding that I also wanted to be a pilot, I joined Pegasus Flight Center in Meacham field in fort worth, Texas where I successfully completed the private pilot, instruments, commercial pilot and multi-engine licenses in 10 weeks and came back to Bahrain in February 1990. The Gulf War started soon after that! That’s when I decided to refocus my efforts on the business field and started Gulf Broadcast & Professional Systems (which was then Computer Point) at the end of 1991. This endeavor combined my twin passions of electronics and computers.
I enjoy a number of hobbies: Photography, videography, video production and postproduction, gardening as well as blogging are my favorite activities. I have a trusty old Nikon F3 with various lenses, a Bronica GS1 stills cameras; a Sony DCR-PC9E DV HandyCam video cameras, as well as various digital cameras including the excellent Canon EOS 20D. You can see some of my photography at Flickr which is an excellent service I wholly recommend for everybody.
Most of all, I enjoy being at Gulf Broadcast and meeting my customers and trying to make a difference.
You can contact me via email, or on Bahrain telephone (+973) 1721 4921 or fax (+973) 1721 4616.
